quotations about Coca-Cola
Well I miss Mayberry
Sitting on the porch drinking ice cold Cherry Coke
Where everything is black and white
Picking on a six string
Where people pass by and you call them by their first name
Watching the clouds roll by
Bye bye

This week, Coca-Cola came to Italy. Seemingly everyone had heard the rumor, but no one put much faith in it. How could it be true? Coca-Cola is some vaguely familiar nectar, reminiscent of some far-off paradise land. Italy is a land of C-rations and Spam and dehydrated food. To have this drink is just like having home brought nearer to you; it's one of the little things of life that really counts.
AMERICAN SOLDIER
letter to his parents during World War II
There are now more obese people in the United States than there are overweight people. I think it's safe to say that after all these years, Diet Coke is a complete failure.
JAY LENO
The Tonight Show, Jan. 12, 2012
Coca-Cola remains emblematic of the best and worst of America and Western civilization. The history of Coca-Cola is the often funny story of a group of men obsessed with putting a trivial soft drink "within an arm's reach of desire." But at the same time, it is a microcosm of American history. Coca-Cola grew up with the country, shaping and shaped by the times. The drink not only helped to alter consumption patterns, but attitudes toward leisure, work, advertising, sex, family life, and patriotism.

For God
The only way that I could figure they could improve upon Coca-Cola, one of life’s most delightful elixirs, which studies prove will heal the sick and occasionally raise the dead, is to put rum or bourbon in it.

I met her in a club down in old Soho
Where you drink champagne and it tastes just like
Coca Cola
C-O-L-A Cola
She walked up to me and she asked me to dance
I asked her her name and in a dark brown voice she said, "Lola"
L-O-L-A Lola, lo lo lo lo Lola
THE KINKS
"Lola"
I'd like to buy the world a home
and furnish it with love
grow apple trees and honey bees
and snow white turtle doves
I'd like to teach the world to sing
in perfect harmony
I'd like to buy the world a coke
and keep it company
that's the real thing

"Buy the World a Coke"
What's great about this country is that America started the tradition where the richest consumers buy essentially the same things as the poorest. You can be watching TV and see Coca-Cola, and you know that the President drinks Coke, Liz Taylor drinks Coke, and just think, you can drink Coke, too. A Coke is a Coke and no amount of money can get you a better Coke than the one the bum on the corner is drinking. All the Cokes are the same and all the Cokes are good. Liz Taylor knows it, the President knows it, the bum knows it, and you know it.

The Philosophy of Andy Warhol: From A to B and Back Again
A billion hours ago, human life appeared on earth. A billion minutes ago, Christianity emerged. A billion seconds ago, the Beatles changed music. A billion Coca-Colas ago was yesterday morning.

Let's go get Cokes
Anything else will make me choke

Without a Coca-Cola life is unthinkable.
HENRY MILLER
The Air-Conditioned Nightmare
So carefully did the Coca-Cola company protect the secret of 7X [their secret recipe] over the years that it was prepared to defy court orders rather than reveal it. In India manufacturers are obliged by law to say what is in a drink, but in 1977 the company decided to cease marketing Coca-Cola in India rather than reveal its secret.

Coke is great from a can, still good from a bottle, yet hard to get just right from the fountain. But oh, when they do get it right, it tastes good enough to be an eighth wonder of the world.

Part of my thinking on Survivor was that it should have rewards that are corporate brands. A Big Mac, one thimble-full of Coca-Cola.

If you gave me $100 billion and said take away the soft drink leadership of Coca-Cola in the world, I'd give it back to you and say it can't be done.

We still drink cokes and tell old jokes and bowl at Splits and Strikes
Country music still plays on the jukebox every night
Society is not for me, but I can still be found
Oh, we miss you on the old side of town
TOM T. HALL

You know, we might've f***ed up the planet, sucking out all the oil, melting the ice caps, allowing ska music to flourish, but we made Coca-Cola, so god**** it, people weren't all bad.
